Designed specifically for advanced young creatives, our Studio Artist class bridges the gap between foundational techniques and personal artistic expression. This program is perfect for students looking to refine their skills, challenge their abilities, and discover their unique artistic voice.
In this studio-style environment, students will reinforce core traditional art concepts—including advanced drawing techniques, painting, understanding value, mastering composition, and color theory. Alongside strengthening these fundamentals, students will be introduced to a rich variety of diverse mediums including clay, glass fusion and encaustics. From classic fine arts to contemporary mix-media, artists will explore new materials, push creative boundaries, and learn to confidently express their ideas.
Our Studio Artist series will provide the tools, techniques, and freedom for young artists to thrive.
Year-Long Fine Art Curriculum
- Fine Art Fundamentals: Students will refine technical abilities by tackling more complex drawing, advanced value mechanics (chiaroscuro), perspective, and color relationship theory.
- Advanced Medium & Technical Rotations: Direct immersion into challenging studio mediums, including heavy-body acrylic palette knife work, working with professional pastels, and throwing on the wheel.
- Conceptual & Contemporary Disciplines: Dynamic terms that cycle through high-contrast atmospheric landscapes, dynamic structural composition design, anatomical and portrait studies, and multi-layered mixed media synthesis.
2026–2027 Terms
Classes run Monday evenings, following the Northshore School District calendar. $52 per class. Enrollment is by term.
- Term 1 — September 14 to October 26, 2026 (7 classes – $364)
- Term 2 — November 2, 2026 to January 11, 2027 (9 classes – $468)
- No class December 21 & 28 (Winter Break), January 18 (MLK Day)
- Term 3 — January 25 to March 29, 2027 (9 classes – $468)
- No class February 15 (Presidents Day)
- Term 4 — April 12 to June 14, 2027 (9 classes – $468)
- No class April 5 (Spring Break), May 31 (Memorial Day)

- Pay for the year: 10% off when you commit to all four terms up front — that’s 34 classes for $1,590.00.
Missed a class?
If your Studio Artist needs to skip their usual session, they can attend a Junior Artists class that same term as a makeup, provided we have an open seat. To request a makeup, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance so we can check availability. (Limit 1 makeup per child per term.)
