Creative Freedom Mixed Media Workshop

  • One day workshop, December 5th
  • 10am – 5pm (with hour lunch break)
  • All levels, beginners especially welcome!
  • Ages 12+
  • All materials provided

If you have not made art since using crayons in elementary school, this class is for you! If you currently have award winning works hanging in prestigious galleries, you are welcome too!

In this workshop we will discover the joy in the process of creating art. There is so much fun to be had in the smearing of paint, the scribbling of ink, the shredding of paper – the end result is nothing more than a bonus.

During this session we will experiment with making all kinds of marks, creating our own collage papers, and using numerous different media to explore color, texture, layers, and contrast. All the while, we will be tuning in to what lights us up and why. In doing so, not only will we awaken our creativity, we will also discover where these sparks of joy come from and how they relate to the fundamental elements of art.

By the end of the day, students will have made three small works of art ready to display or gift to someone special. These unique little pieces of creativity will be the perfect reminder that inside each of us there is an artist wanting to play.

Flic Chastney is a self taught artist based in Woodinville. When her family relocated to the PNW, she left her previous career behind and began her creative adventure, exploring many different media along the way. She has had her work displayed in several galleries across the Seattle area, including most recently in Park Lane Gallery’s International Miniature show, where her Seattle cityscape won honorable mention in the landscape category. She is thrilled to be teaching at Picket Fence Art Studio.
