Course Overview
The focus for this session will be loose figures. Our inspiration will be Carole Marine, Mark Lague and Simon Pasini. We will complete a series of smaller one-day studies to build our confidence with the figure and then finish with a painting from one of your own photographs. I am excited as this will improve your drawing skills, reinforce the “economy of stroke,” be a lesson in edges, and always color and value.
Each class begins with a 30 minute lesson with optional exercises for your to complete. Self-directed work is always welcome: bring in your favorite photo references (landscapes, florals, travel scenes, portraits) or work from physical studio still life setups. With live demos and individualized, easel-side coaching each week, you will receive tailored guidance meeting you exactly where you are in your artistic journey.
