Discover the joy of painting with texture and bold color in this vibrant acrylic workshop! Perfect for artists of all levels, this class explores the expressive and spontaneous art of using a palette knife to create stunning depictions of flowers and birds. The palette knife encourages a wonderful looseness, allowing you to build rich textures and create joyful paintings full of life and energy.

This five-week series is designed to ignite creativity and build skills in a relaxed, encouraging environment. We’ll explore the fundamentals of color, texture, and composition, drawing inspiration from beautiful floral arrangements and bird references provided in the studio.

Each class begins with a 30-minute demonstration from Olga, who will guide you step-by-step through the process. Students will have the unique opportunity to develop their paintings over two to three classes, allowing for greater depth, layering, and refinement in their work.

Join us to learn a new technique, embrace spontaneity, and create artwork that sings with color and personality!

About the Instructor: Olga Bolgar

Originally from a small, picturesque town near St. Petersburg, Russia, Olga has had a lifelong love for drawing and painting. After completing her studies and earning a master’s degree in fine art in Yaroslavl, she worked in an icon studio, where she painted traditional icons and deepened her understanding of color, form, and symbolism.

Olga’s artistic journey eventually led her to the United States, and after raising her children, she has joyfully returned to her passion. She has studied with many outstanding American artists, continuing to refine and master her painting skills.

Now a full-time freelance artist living in Bellevue, Olga is dedicated to perfecting her style and expressing herself with color as naturally as if she were speaking out loud. Her diverse background and deep love for nature—from the colors of the sky to the figures of people and animals—make her an inspiring and encouraging guide for students seeking to discover their own artistic voice.
