Fall is the perfect season to notice how light changes—golden afternoons, long shadows, cozy glow. In our Monday Creative Art Classes for Kids Ages 5 – 7, October’s theme is “Playing with Light in Art.” Students will explore how artists use highlights, shadows, contrast, and warm/cool color to make pictures feel bright, dramatic, or mysterious.
What we’ll explore
- Highlights & shadows: Where does the light come from? How do we show form with value?
- Warm vs. cool color: How color temperature changes the mood of a picture.
- Glow effects: Soft edges, color layering, and simple blending to make objects shine.
