I was looking for a craft that I could do at home sitting by the fireplace or with the TV on in the background. That is when I found Melissa and her Embroidery Classes.
I’ve been to a couple of these embroidery classes and I love them. They’re very relaxed and friendly. You can learn new stitches or perfect old ones. And you head home with extra supplies so you can keep stitching after class.
Join us on September 20, 11:00 am–1:00 pm, as we host Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ for a hands-on napkin embroidery workshop. It’s a beginner-friendly deep dive into woodland-inspired designs—think tiny flowers, trees, fruits, and the sweetest little mushrooms—stitched right onto cotton napkins. Tuition is $60, and all supplies are included.
Quick details

- When: September 20, 11:00 am–1:00 pm
- Price: $60 (all supplies included)
- Instructor: Melissa Galbraith (MCreativeJ) (Picket Fence Art Studio)
Melissa will guide you through staple stitches that unlock a ton of textures and details—seed stitch, stem stitch, detached chain, French knot, and buttonhole—so your napkins feel lively and layered rather than “flat.” You’ll also take home materials to keep practicing, so the creativity doesn’t stop when class ends. (Her kits typically include the essentials like hoop, needle, threads, transfer patterns, and cotton napkins.)
Why I love these workshops
- Truly hands-on. You’re stitching within minutes, with help at your elbow.
- Calm + social. The room hums with conversation, and time just…slows down.
- Take-home momentum. Extra supplies mean you can finish a set or start new pieces at home—great for gifts or cozy fall tables.
