Join us at Picket Fence Art Studio for a relaxed, creative evening as we dive into the moody and expressive world of watercolor! In this special “Paint and Sip” session, local artist Pam Carraway will guide you through the process of painting a charming, soulful crow—perfect for both beginners and seasoned painters.

Crows are a favorite subject for watercolor because of the beautiful way “blacks” can be mixed using deep blues, purples, and browns. Pam will show you how to layer these colors to create a bird that is full of life and character, rather than just a flat silhouette.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Wet-on-Wet Techniques: Create soft, ethereal backgrounds and subtle feather textures.
  • Color Mixing: How to create “lively blacks” and rich shadows without using paint straight from the tube.
  • Detail Work: Using fine brushes to capture the intelligence in the crow’s eye and the sharp detail of the beak.
