I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what a home is.

  •  We just sold the house where we raised our small kids, as we are transitioning into a different phase of our lives.
  •  I  work with homeless people in Seattle who have described the homeless shelter as their home.
  • And we have many friends in Nicaragua whose homes are nothing more than cardboard boxes.

I’ve come to realize that no matter where you live, home is where you feel loved. It is where you gather with friends and family and share your life experiences.

This is the first in a series of artistic creations, dedicated to the idea of home and love.

Here is a look at the creative process for this 6 x 6 encaustic mixed media mounted on birch panels (3/4 inch deep) incorporating wax, india ink, oil paint and pastels.

  • Home is Where you Feel Loved
